How much does a Kent wine tour cost?

A tasting at a Kent vineyard starts at about £25, and a full day out with lunch costs several times that. Here is what you get at each price, and the extras that catch people out.

Prices checked in September 2026. They move with the season, so check the listing before you book.

The short answer

Expect £25 to £40 a head for a tour and tasting at a single Kent vineyard. A full day out from London or Brighton is usually £145 to £185 a head, and that covers the transport, lunch and tastings at two or three vineyards. With your own driver and guide, a private day starts at £190 a head (checked October 2026).

Costs people forget

  • The trainPeak tickets cost far more than off-peak ones. A railcard can take a third off.
  • Taxis from the stationMost vineyards are a short taxi ride from the nearest station, and it adds up. Gusbourne lists an agreed fare of about £30 from Ashford.
  • Wine to take homeAlmost everyone leaves with a bottle or two. Some tours come with a discount in the shop.
  • Food on tasting-only visitsA single tasting rarely includes lunch, so allow for a meal.

Ways to keep the cost down

  • Pick one vineyard, not threeOne tasting and an off-peak train is the cheapest good day out in Kent wine.
  • Choose a walkable vineyardYou can walk to Westwell, Warehorne and Domaine Evremond from a station and save the taxi fare. The train guide has the details.
  • Go private for the day to yourselvesA private day costs more a head than a shared one. You do get to set the route and the pace, and you only share the minibus with people you chose.

Questions people ask

What is the cheapest way to visit a Kent vineyard?

Travel off-peak and book one tasting at a vineyard you can walk to from the station. Westwell and Warehorne both work.

Is lunch included on a Kent wine tour?

Usually yes on a full-day tour from London or Brighton. A single vineyard tasting usually leaves you to find your own, so budget for a meal.

Is a private wine tour worth it?

For a celebration or a group of friends, we think so. It costs more a head than a shared tour, from £190 against about £150, and in return the day runs to your plan.
